Reuniting the classic Primus lineup to record original music for the first time since 1995, The Desaturating Seven is a concept album based on a children’s book called The Rainbow Goblins. Channelling their prog-rock roots, the band filters a fairy tale of colour-eating goblins through adventurous time signatures, skronky-tonk guitar work and ringleader Les Claypool’s nasal vocal intonations and bulbous basslines. This is Primus as fun-loving, boisterous and ambitious as ever.
